Sad Hindi Death / Funeral Song to Remember the Ones We Miss
Today is the death anniversary of my dear grandmother. I miss her a lot. Thinking about her made me write this article about sad Hindi funeral or death song sung by Mukesh. This song was introduced to me by my father.
First Paragraph
Jaane chale jate hai kaha
Duniya se jaane wale
Jaane chale jate hai kaha
Kaise dhude koi unko
Nahi kadamo ke bhi nisha
Duniya se jaane wale
Jaane chale jate hai kaha
Meaning:
Where do those people go who leave this world? How can anyone find them? There aren’t even footprints left behind of those who depart from this world.
Second Paragraph
Jaane hai wo kaun nagariya
Aaye jaaye khat na khabariya
Aaye jab jab unki yade
Aaye hotho pe fariyade
Jaake phir na ane wale
Jaane chale jate hai kaha
Duniya se jaane wale
Jaane chale jate hai kaha
Meaning:
Who knows which city/town they have gone to? No letter or news ever comes from them. Whenever their memories come, complaints and pleas rise to the lips. Those who leave and never return… where do they go, those who depart from this world?
Third Paragraph
Mere bichhade jivan sathi
Sathi jaise dipak bati
Mujhase bichhad gaye tum aise
Saawan ke jate hi jaise
Ud ke badal kaale kaale
Jaane chale jate hai kaha
Duniya se jaane wale
Jaane chale jate hai kaha…
Meaning:
My separated life partner (you were like the flame and the wick of a lamp — inseparable). You left me in such a way, just like the dark black clouds fly away as soon as the monsoon (Sawan) ends. Where do those who leave this world go?
